Turkmenistan Investment Forum Opens in Ashgabat

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The Investment Forum of Turkmenistan commenced at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat on October 1, bringing together government officials, experts, representatives of international financial institutions and organizations, and leading companies from various countries.
The forum is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan.
The event opened with a plenary session titled “Investment Activity: A Key Factor in Dynamic and Sustainable Economic Development.” Participants heard a congratulatory address on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Representatives of Turkmenistan highlighted the country’s ongoing efforts to diversify its economy, modernize industrial infrastructure and develop advanced processing facilities and industrial complexes based on modern technologies.
They also highlighted the National Strategy for the Industrial Development of Turkmenistan for 2030–2045, approved by a resolution signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a recent meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council).
The strategy sets out long-term objectives for the industrialization of Turkmenistan’s national economy and is intended to guide the country’s industrial development in the coming decades.
International participants noted that Turkmenistan’s investment potential is supported not only by its abundant natural resources but also by state policies aimed at creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurship and investment.
Speakers also emphasized Turkmenistan’s diplomacy in support of sustainable development, noting that its principles of neutrality and trust contribute to expanding international cooperation in both political and economic spheres.
Following the plenary session, the forum continued through a series of thematic discussions addressing key aspects of investment and economic development. Bilateral meetings were also held on the sidelines of the event.
A number of agreements and other documents were signed between Turkmen government entities, private enterprises and foreign partners during the forum, reflecting efforts to expand economic and investment cooperation.
The Investment Forum of Turkmenistan will conclude on October 2.
The second day of the forum will feature sessions on “Strategic Course Toward Economic Diversification: Cooperation with International Financial Organizations and Development Partners,” “Regulation of Virtual Assets and Implementation of Mining Technologies,” and “Innovation and Financial Technologies: Digital and Green Transformations for Sustainable Development.”
A specialized conference on “Legal Regulation of Investments” is also scheduled as part of the forum’s second-day programme.
