OSCE Chairman-in-Office Ignazio Cassis Pays Tribute at Baku’s Alley of Martyrs

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Ignazio Cassis, Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, who is serving as the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Chairman-in-Office, paid tribute to Azerbaijan’s fallen heroes during an official visit to Baku on Tuesday.
During his visit to the Alley of Martyrs, Cassis laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument in honor of the Azerbaijani martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity.
The Swiss foreign minister also viewed the panoramic landscape of Baku and was briefed by Azerbaijani officials on the history and significance of the Alley of Martyrs, one of the nation’s most revered memorial sites.
He was further informed about the extensive redevelopment and modernization projects undertaken in the Azerbaijani capital as part of ongoing urban development efforts.
The visit formed part of Cassis’s official engagements in Azerbaijan aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and fostering dialogue in his capacity as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
