Tajikistan Reviews Implementation of Social Protection Development Strategy Through 2040
Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: A working meeting dedicated to reviewing the implementation of the Social Protection Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan through 2040 and its Action Plan for 2024–2026 was held in Dushanbe on August 14 under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Dilrabo Mansuri.
The meeting reviewed progress in implementing the strategic document and discussed measures aimed at further strengthening the country’s social protection system, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population reported.
Participants noted that the Social Protection Development Strategy through 2040 was adopted to promote the development of the social protection sector and bring it into line with the requirements of the modern era. The sector remains among the priorities of the Government of Tajikistan.
To implement the Strategy, an Action Plan for 2024–2026 has been approved and is currently being carried out.
The meeting emphasized that the Strategy sets out the long-term vision for the social protection system and outlines the further development of the sector. It is also aimed at implementing the instructions and priorities set by President of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, particularly in strengthening the social protection system, advancing institutional reforms, ensuring sustainable national development and safeguarding citizens’ social guarantees at different stages of life.
The Strategy also focuses on strengthening social justice, contributing to the achievement of the country’s strategic objectives and advancing the priorities of the state’s social policy.
Its implementation is being carried out in stages through the development and adoption of relevant action plans. Financing is provided within allocations from the state budget and other sources not prohibited by Tajik legislation, including foreign investment, grants, humanitarian funds and assistance from international organisations.
During the meeting, relevant ministries, agencies and committees were given specific instructions and tasks to further improve work related to the implementation of the Strategy’s Action Plan and ensure effective progress toward its objectives.
