Dutch Edition of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s Book on Akhal-Teke Horses Presented in the Netherlands

The Hague, The Gulf Observer: The Dutch-language edition of the book “The Horse: A Symbol of Faithfulness and Happiness” by Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented in the Kingdom of the Netherlands as part of a series of international events highlighting the heritage of the renowned Akhal-Teke horse and Turkmen horse-breeding traditions.
The presentation brought together Turkmen scientists, professors and teachers, students, representatives of major international political and public organizations, leading scientific and educational institutions, public figures and prominent horse breeders from different countries.
The Dutch edition was introduced to a wider audience during the international scientific-practical conference “Akhal-Teke Horse: Turkmen Art of Universal Horse Breeding.” The event opened with remarks by Allaberdy Ashirov, President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
Speakers at the presentation included Sapar Palvanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belgium; Marian Weelterwrede, President of the European Akhal-Teke Horse Association; and Pygy Bayramdurdyyew, Rector of the Aba Annayew International Academy of Horse Breeding, among others.
The international gathering in Kronenberg featured an extensive programme dedicated to the Akhal-Teke horse and Turkmen equestrian traditions. It included beauty and dressage competitions involving Akhal-Teke horses of different ages, a scientific-practical conference on Turkmen horsemanship, horse-jumping competitions and events aimed at selecting the best Akhal-Teke horse in Europe.
The presentation of the Dutch-language edition underscored the growing international interest in the cultural heritage, traditions and unique characteristics associated with the Akhal-Teke horse, widely regarded as an important symbol of Turkmen national identity.
