Oman, Rwanda Leaders Hold Talks to Expand Bilateral Investment Cooperation
Salalah, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Paul Kagame of the Republic of Rwanda held an official session of talks at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah, focusing on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand investment partnerships between Oman and Rwanda.
The discussions covered a range of priority sectors, including mining, renewable energy, food security, land ports, logistics and healthcare. The two sides explored opportunities to enhance investment cooperation in these areas in a manner that supports the aspirations of the peoples of both countries and advances their mutual interests.
The talks underscored the importance of expanding economic and investment relations and creating greater opportunities for cooperation between Oman and Rwanda across strategic sectors.
The Omani delegation included His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs; His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance; Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority; Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology; Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals; Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; and Nasra bint Salim Al Hashmi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Kenya and Non-Resident Ambassador to Rwanda.
The Rwandan delegation comprised Olivier Nduhungirehe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation; Yusuf Murangwa, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning; Antoine Kajangwe, Minister of Trade and Industry; Solange Uwituze, Minister of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources; Juliana Muganza, Chief Executive Officer of the Rwanda Development Board; Dan Munyuza, Non-Resident Ambassador of Rwanda to the Sultanate of Oman; and other senior officials.
The talks form part of efforts by Oman and Rwanda to deepen bilateral relations and broaden cooperation in economic, investment and development fields, with particular emphasis on sectors offering opportunities for sustainable growth and long-term partnership.
