Azerbaijan Calls for Stronger Regional Integration and Economic Resilience in C6 Format

Avaza, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has called for deeper regional integration, stronger political dialogue and enhanced economic resilience among Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan to address growing global instability and support sustainable development.
Bayramov made the remarks while participating in and addressing a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan in Awaza, Turkmenistan, during his working visit to the country.
The Azerbaijani foreign minister thanked Turkmenistan for the effective organization of the meeting and emphasized that, amid increasing global instability and disruptions to supply chains, closer regional cooperation within the C6 format was essential for shared security and sustainable development.
Bayramov described Azerbaijan’s full participation in the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia as reflecting a new level of regional interaction based on historical ties and shared strategic interests.
He highlighted the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor as a major East-West connectivity route and called for further integration of transport infrastructure, streamlined procedures and greater digitalization of transit systems to increase cargo flows.
The minister also pointed to the emerging regional architecture of connectivity driven by digital transit and highlighted the strategic partnership among Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the production and transmission of green energy.
According to Bayramov, there is considerable potential for expanding mutual trade and investment among the participating countries, supported by a high level of political trust and regular high-level dialogue.
Addressing environmental challenges, the Azerbaijani foreign minister expressed concern over the declining water levels of the Caspian Sea and the Aral Sea. He called for a systematic scientific approach, enhanced information exchange and stronger regional cooperation to address common climate and environmental challenges.
Bayramov reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s readiness to further strengthen the C6 format and actively contribute to implementing the long-term agreements expected to be reached at the upcoming Summit.
He stressed that closer regional coordination and practical cooperation would contribute to strengthening connectivity, economic resilience and sustainable development across Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
