Persian Gulf part of joint identity of Iran, Gulf States: Iranian FM

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Posting a tweet in Farsi on the occasion of the National Persian Gulf Day on Sunday, the Iranian foreign minister said that maximizing the benefits of the Persian Gulf rests upon security, convergence and collective participation of the littoral states of the “glorious body of water”.

The Persian Gulf is part of the region’s shared historical and cultural identity, and the Islamic Republic of Iran considers strengthening relations with the Persian Gulf countries based on its neighborliness policy as the most important factor in achieving shared security, Iranian Foreign Office Spokesman Kanaani said at a presser in Tehran on Monday.
