Uzbekistan will allocate $1.5 million to UN Middle East Bureau for people in Gaza
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Uzbekistan will allocate US$1.5 million to the Middle East Bureau of the United Nations to provide all possible assistance to residents of the Gaza Strip. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“As you know, armed clashes between the Israeli army and the Hamas movement are aggravating the humanitarian crisis and leading to numerous casualties among the civilian, innocent population. Children and women are dying, people are losing shelter over their heads, and are forced to leave their homes,” the President noted.
“We sincerely sympathize and express our condolences to all the families of the victims on the Palestinian and Israeli sides,” he added.
“I have decided to allocate US$1.5 million to the Middle East Bureau of the United Nations to provide all possible assistance to the residents of the Gaza Strip,” said the head of Uzbekistan.
“We express our strong solidarity with the people of Palestine and support their right to establish their own independent state in accordance with previously adopted resolutions of the General Assembly and the UN Security Council,” said the President of our country.
“I am convinced that further escalation of violence is fraught with large-scale destabilization of the international situation and the involvement of new forces in armed confrontation. All this can lead to difficult to predict, tragic consequences that go far beyond the Middle East region,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“That is why we call on both sides for an immediate humanitarian truce and cessation of hostilities, and a peaceful resolution of the conflict. As you know, our region of Central Asia has a unique experience of peaceful coexistence of representatives of different nations and faiths,” he said.
“For centuries, Muslims, Christians and Jews have lived here in friendship and harmony, side by side. Taking this opportunity, I also want to appeal to our compatriots, especially young people, with an appeal not to succumb to various provocations and not to commit illegal actions,” he noted.
“We must together take care of our peaceful and calm life, the atmosphere of unity and mutual understanding that reigns in our country, which is our greatest strength and priceless wealth,” said the head of our state and moved on to discuss issues on the agenda of the meeting,” said the President of Uzbekistan.
