Oman records a 4.9% surge in natural gas production

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The total domestic production of natural gas in Oman increased by 4.9 percent to reach 49.444 billion cubic meters by the end of November 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, when the output was about 47.113 billion cubic meters.

Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that industrial projects accounted for 58.4 percent of natural gas at 28.89 billion cubic meters in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of November 2023.

The total use of natural gas for oil fields reached 12.36 billion cubic meters, power generation stations at 7.94 billion cubic meters and the industrial sector reached 240.10 million cubic meters, the NCSI data revealed.

It is noteworthy that the non-associated production of natural gas, including imports, amounted to 39.29 billion cubic meters, while the associated production amounted to 10.14 billion cubic meters.
