President Xi Speech on Celebrating 60 Years of Diplomatic Ties With France
Chinese President Xi Jinping, in a video speech, commemorated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and France, acknowledging the profound historical significance of the event. French President Emmanuel Macron, in his video speech, reflected on the historic decision of General Charles de Gaulle to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China 60 years ago. He underlined the joint responsibility of both nations to build a partnership that not only meets the needs of their peoples but also contributes to global peace and stability.
President Macron expressed France’s willingness to collaborate with China in addressing global challenges and resolving international crises. He highlighted the year 2024 as the France-China Year of Culture and Tourism, encouraging enhanced exchanges between the two peoples, especially the youth, to solidify the foundation for future relations.
The 60th-anniversary celebration will culminate in an event at the Palace of Versailles in Paris on January 31, where video speeches from both heads of state will be broadcasted, emphasizing the enduring friendship and collaborative spirit between China and France.
