Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Brazilian President Discuss Strengthening Strategic Bilateral Relations

Rio de Janeiro, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, held a high-level meeting with His Excellency Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, to explore avenues for further strengthening the strategic ties between the United Arab Emirates and Brazil.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, where both leaders expressed their commitment to deepening cooperation across priority sectors in support of sustainable development goals and shared interests.
President Lula warmly welcomed His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed and the accompanying UAE delegation, highlighting the longstanding and robust relationship between Brazil and the UAE. He emphasized that these deep-rooted ties provide a solid foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation across a range of fields.
His Highness conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Lula da Silva, along with his best wishes for the Brazilian leader’s continued health and well-being and for Brazil’s sustained prosperity and progress.
In return, President Lula asked the Crown Prince to relay his sincere greetings and best wishes to the President of the United Arab Emirates, expressing appreciation for the strength of UAE-Brazil relations and the UAE’s role as a reliable and forward-looking partner.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him and the UAE delegation. He reaffirmed the UAE’s pride in its enduring strategic partnership with Brazil—a relationship spanning five decades, built on mutual respect, shared values, and a collective vision for inclusive and sustainable development.
During the discussions, both sides reviewed the progress made in bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of further coordination in vital areas including trade, energy, innovation, sustainability, and investment. The leaders underscored their shared ambition to elevate cooperation to new heights, in alignment with evolving global challenges and opportunities.
