Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Abu Dhabi has welcomed warships from around the world at the ADNEC Marina in preparation for the eighth edition of the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025, scheduled to take place from 17 to 21 February 2025.

Organized alongside the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX), NAVDEX 2025 is spearheaded by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and Tawazun Council, under the esteemed patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This year’s edition will feature an extensive display of naval fleets from eight nations, including the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Kingdom, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Hellenic Republic (Greece), the Republic of Korea (South Korea), and the Republic of India.

Showcasing Cutting-Edge Naval Technologies

Commodore Rashed Ibrahim Rashed Al-Muhaisni, Chairman of the Maritime Committee of NAVDEX, emphasized the event’s prominence as a global platform, stating, “We take great pride in being the focal point for thousands of high-profile figures and decision-makers from around the world, all gathering to participate in IDEX and NAVDEX.”

He highlighted that NAVDEX 2025 will be the most extensive and distinguished edition since its inception, witnessing the launch of several warships for the UAE Armed Forces. The event will feature 21 naval vessels from allied and friendly nations, including newly manufactured ships that reflect the advanced technological capabilities of the Emirati defence industry.

Participants will have the opportunity to showcase a variety of vessels of different sizes and demonstrate their capabilities at the NAVDEX live demonstration area, a dedicated marine platform, as well as at Mina Zayed, which will host larger warships. This edition marks a transformative leap in both international and local participation, reinforcing the role of NAVDEX as a hub for the latest in defence and security technologies.

Strategic Platform for Industry Leaders

Saeed Al Mansoori, Defence Events Advisor at ADNEC Group, underscored the significance of NAVDEX 2025, describing it as a leading platform for unveiling innovations in naval defence and security. “ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi has welcomed decision-makers, industry leaders, and innovators to explore new horizons in the future of maritime defence and security,” he said.

He further noted that the expansion of exhibition space, the increased number of participating companies, and the introduction of advanced technologies from various nations reaffirm Abu Dhabi’s position as a global centre for the defence industry.

The event organizers have already received the first batch of naval vessels as they navigated the waterway towards ADNEC Marina. These vessels represent a diverse range of sizes and functionalities, enhancing the international scope of the exhibition. Additionally, Mina Zayed has welcomed several other naval vessels participating in NAVDEX 2025, further expanding the global presence of this distinguished event.

NAVDEX Talks and Live Demonstrations

NAVDEX 2025 will host NAVDEX Talks, a series of lectures and panel discussions featuring experts and specialists who will explore emerging trends, real-world case studies, and the latest advancements in naval defence technology.

Exhibitors will also have a unique opportunity to present their vessels in a dedicated waterborne exhibition area, where ships can be moored at a temporary marina equipped with floating docks. The event will feature a daily schedule of live demonstrations, many led by exhibitors, providing an engaging and immersive experience for visitors. The grandstand overlooking the waterfront and adjacent to the exhibition area will offer guests a front-row view of the latest maritime technologies in action.

NAVDEX 2025 is set to bring together a distinguished gathering of global industry leaders, decision-makers, and maritime defence experts, shaping the future of the naval defence sector and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a key player in global defence innovation.
