Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Holds 37 Bilateral Meetings During UN General Assembly High-Level Week
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held an intensive series of diplomatic engagements during the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, conducting bilateral meetings, participating in high-level events and signing a number of international documents.
According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, Bayramov held 37 bilateral meetings with foreign ministers, heads of international organizations and senior state officials during his stay in New York.
He also signed 17 bilateral documents and delivered speeches at 11 high-level events covering a wide range of regional and international issues.
The events included the General Debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, ministerial meetings of the Group of 77 and China, the Global Development Initiative, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the Organisation of Turkic States, the Economic Cooperation Organization and the grouping of Landlocked Developing Countries.
Bayramov also addressed the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, a session on the Trans-Caspian and TRIPP routes, a US Chamber of Commerce roundtable and the World Trade Organization World Economic Leaders Luncheon.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said the intensive diplomatic agenda provided an opportunity to advance the country’s foreign policy priorities and strengthen bilateral partnerships.
The discussions also reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s engagement in the multilateral agenda, with the country emphasizing cooperation on peace, stability, connectivity and mutually beneficial partnerships.
The meetings and high-level events provided platforms for expanding Azerbaijan’s cooperation with international partners and advancing its multilateral diplomatic priorities, the ministry said.
Azerbaijan reiterated its intention to remain actively engaged with international partners in support of peace, stability, connectivity and mutually beneficial cooperation.
