Azerbaijan Plans to Boost Renewable Energy Capacity to 6 Gigawatts by 2030

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that the country has highly ambitious programs and plans for the renewable energy sector, with German companies being recognized for their vast experience in this field.

During a joint press statement with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s intent to significantly increase the production capacity of renewable energy sources. He emphasized that the target is to reach 6 gigawatts by 2030, primarily through foreign investments, noting that the goal is fully realistic.

“A portion of this renewable energy will be exported to Europe,” President Aliyev added, stressing the importance of international cooperation in achieving the country’s energy goals.

To recall, on April 1, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany arrived in Azerbaijan for an official visit, marking a new chapter in the bilateral relations between the two nations, especially in the field of renewable energy.
