Belarus Reaffirms Vietnam as Key Southeast Asian Partner on Commemorative Occasion

Minsk, The Gulf Observer: Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Aleksandrovich Sivak reaffirmed that Vietnam remains Belarus’s top-priority partner in Southeast Asia during a recent event marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

The commemorative event, attended by approximately 400 guests, brought together Deputy PM Sivak, members of the Belarusian parliament, representatives from various ministries and local authorities, as well as Belarusian experts and military personnel who had supported Vietnam during wartime.

Speaking at the event, Deputy PM Sivak expressed his deep appreciation for the long-standing friendship between the Belarusian and Vietnamese peoples. He highlighted that the relationship continues to grow through dynamic exchanges at all levels, mutual support at international forums, and vibrant people-to-people diplomacy.

Deputy PM Sivak underscored the significance of Party General Secretary Tô Lâm’s visit to Belarus in May and the signing of the joint statement establishing the Vietnam–Belarus Strategic Partnership. He described it as a historic milestone, reflecting a high level of political trust and elevating bilateral relations to a new height.

He further pledged that Belarus would make every effort to implement the agreements reached by the high-ranking leaders of both countries, aiming to benefit and enhance the prosperity of their peoples.

The event also featured cultural performances and traditional Vietnamese cuisine presented by the Vietnamese community in Belarus. Additionally, the Vietnamese Embassy organized an exhibition showcasing Vietnam’s landscapes, people, and the enduring friendship between the two nations.
