Biden Orders Enhanced Security for Trump Following Assassination Attempt
Washington, D.C., The Gulf Observer: In a statement from the White House, President Joe Biden announced that he has instructed the Secret Service to take all necessary measures to ensure the security of former President Donald Trump following an assassination attempt.
“Mr. Trump, as a former president and nominee of the Republican Party, already receives a heightened level of security, and I have been consistent in my direction to the Secret Service to provide him with every resource, capability, and protective measure necessary to ensure his continued safety,” President Biden stated. He added that he had a brief phone call with Trump on Saturday evening to express his concern and support.
The assassination attempt occurred during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania late on Saturday. Former President Trump was wounded in the incident. According to recent reports, he is safe, having sustained a minor injury with a bullet piercing his right ear. Tragically, the shooting left one person dead and two others injured. The assailant was neutralized by officers of the US Secret Service, who are tasked with protecting high-ranking officials of the state.
The FBI is currently investigating the shooting at Trump’s rally as a potential domestic terrorism attack and assassination attempt.
