Bukhara turns blue on World Children’s Day

Bukhara, The Gulf Observer: Iconic landmarks around the world turned blue to mark World Children’s Day today, as UNICEF celebrated the 30th anniversary of adopting the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history.

Every year on November 19 and 20, over 100 buildings in Uzbekistan are lit blue as a symbol of solidarity, unity, and support for children’s rights in Uzbekistan. The cultural heritage sites of Bukhara also turned blue.
