China’s Navy to Showcase Advanced Fighter Jets and Helicopters at Airshow China 2024
Zhuhai, The Gulf Observer: China’s navy announced that its J-15D and J-15T fighter jets will debut at the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China), to be held from November 12-17 in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. The jets will perform aerobatic displays, showcasing the country’s latest advancements in naval aviation technology.
The navy will also demonstrate air assault operations with the Z-20J shipborne helicopter and Z-8C transport helicopter, featuring naval marine units and associated equipment, marking the first appearance of the navy marine corps at the airshow.
Additional exhibits will include the Z-9F shipborne anti-submarine helicopter, the Y-8 anti-submarine patrol aircraft, and various shipborne weapon systems, maritime rescue, and survival equipment, many of which are being publicly showcased for the first time, according to the navy’s equipment department.
Notably, female shipborne aircraft pilots will also participate in the event, reflecting the growing diversity within China’s naval forces.
Li Jian, a researcher at China’s Naval Research Academy, emphasized that the navy’s extensive participation highlights its multi-dimensional maritime operation capabilities and fosters international understanding and cooperation.
