Chinese Classical Poetry Icon Ye Jiaying Passes Away at 100
Tianjin, The Gulf Observer: Ye Jiaying, a revered scholar of classical Chinese poetry, passed away on Sunday at the age of 100, as confirmed by Nankai University, where she was a long-time educator. The university announced that Ye succumbed to illness at 3:23 p.m. in Tianjin.
With a career spanning over seven decades, Ye Jiaying was a towering figure in the study, teaching, and promotion of classical Chinese poetry, both domestically and internationally. Her contributions shaped generations of literary scholars, including many renowned figures in Chinese literature.
