Chinese President Xi Jinping Meets with Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping held a meeting on Monday with Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Vuong Dinh Hue, during which they discussed the progress and strategic significance of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

President Xi conveyed warm regards to Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, through Vuong Dinh Hue, highlighting the pivotal announcement made during his visit to Vietnam last year. Together with Nguyen Phu Trong, they initiated the creation of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, marking a milestone in bilateral relations.

Xi emphasized the unique bond between China and Vietnam, describing them as like-minded partners with a shared destiny. He underscored the traditional friendship between the two parties and countries as “comrades-plus-brothers,” reflecting the depth of their relationship.

The Chinese President called for joint efforts to advance the vision of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, benefitting both nations’ modernization goals and enhancing mutual prosperity. Amid global and regional challenges, Xi stressed the importance of safeguarding their socialist systems and promoting national stability and development.

Xi urged enhanced collaboration to consolidate mutual trust, strengthen the foundation of high-quality cooperation, and demonstrate political wisdom in pursuing their shared future vision.

China is committed to sharing governance and development experiences, integrating the Belt and Road Initiative with Vietnam’s Two Corridors and One Economic Circle strategy, and fostering people-to-people exchanges and sister city partnerships.

Xi expressed hope for deeper legislative exchanges and cooperation between China’s National People’s Congress and Vietnam’s National Assembly, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between their peoples.

Vuong Dinh Hue conveyed warm greetings from Nguyen Phu Trong to President Xi, emphasizing Vietnam’s high regard for China’s development achievements. He reaffirmed Vietnam’s adherence to the one-China principle and firm opposition to any form of “Taiwan independence” activities.

Vietnam considers China its top strategic priority in foreign relations, and Vuong Dinh Hue pledged to maintain close communication and cooperation with China at all levels, guided by the goals set by their leaders.

The Vietnamese National Assembly is committed to strengthening exchanges with China’s National People’s Congress to contribute positively to bilateral friendship and the realization of a shared future between Vietnam and China.
