Emine Erdoğan Celebrates Women in Agriculture on World Women Farmers’ Day
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan has praised the crucial contributions of women in agriculture, recognizing their vital role in nurturing the land and securing prosperity for future generations. The celebration took place on the occasion of World Women Farmers’ Day during the “Women Who Leave Their Mark on the Land” event, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
In her address at the event, Emine Erdoğan highlighted the deep connection between women and the earth, emphasizing that their hard work is akin to planting “a seed of love in the heart of the soil.” She commended the resilience, dedication, and creativity of women farmers, noting their essential role in shaping Türkiye’s agricultural future.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Erdoğan expressed her admiration for the tireless efforts of these women, stressing that their labor leaves a lasting legacy. Accompanying her message was a video that featured inspiring stories from women farmers across Türkiye, showcasing the strength and determination behind their agricultural endeavors.
The video included the experiences of farmers like Merve Çakın from Bursa, who expressed her gratitude to the First Lady for her support in encouraging the formation of agricultural cooperatives. Çakın urged other women to continue dreaming and working hard, affirming that with perseverance, they can achieve their aspirations.
Sibel Merveoğlu, a farmer from Muğla, shared her appreciation for the unwavering support provided by the state, while Nazmiye Dengel from Kastamonu extended her hopes for bountiful harvests and prosperous times for all farmers in Türkiye.
