Vietnam’s Tô Lâm Hosts International Scientists at the 4th VinFuture Prize Ceremony

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Party General Secretary Tô Lâm hosted a reception on December 6 for international scientists and experts attending the 4th VinFuture Prize awarding ceremony in Vietnam. The ceremony, which honors achievements in AI, materials science, environmental research, and medical applications, highlights Vietnam’s commitment to becoming a global leader in science, technology, and innovation.

In his address, General Secretary Lâm emphasized Vietnam’s determination to achieve its development goals, including transforming the country into an upper-middle-income nation with modern industry by 2030 and a high-income, developed country by 2045. He stressed the importance of science, technology, and innovation as key drivers for enhancing productivity, quality, and sustainable development.

Lâm also expressed his deep appreciation to the international scientists and experts for their ongoing partnership with Vietnam, urging them to continue supporting the country in areas such as policy consulting for new science and technology developments, training high-quality human resources, and fostering innovation centers.

Professor Richard Henry Friend, Chair of the VinFuture Prize Council, reaffirmed the prize’s global significance, highlighting the contributions of this year’s laureates in promoting international cooperation and addressing global challenges.

International experts commended Vietnam’s progress in digital transformation and technology applications in various sectors. They also proposed collaborative initiatives in AI ecosystem development, energy transition, digital economy, and human resource training, positioning Vietnam as a future hub for technological innovation.
