HCM City Book Street to Showcase Vietnamese Culture and Traditional Arts in 2025

HCM City, The Gulf Observer: The HCM City Book Street Company is set to launch a series of events and activities in 2025 aimed at introducing Vietnamese culture and traditional performing arts to both local and international visitors.
In collaboration with the city’s Union of Literature and Arts Associations, the company will organize a variety of cultural programs, including talks on traditional arts and live music and dance performances. These events will take place at Book Street on Nguyễn Văn Bình Street in District 1.
Additionally, photo and painting exhibitions highlighting the country’s rich cultural heritage and the city’s achievements will be showcased.
To further enhance the cultural experience, the company will work alongside the city’s Hát Bội (classical drama) Theatre, the Southern Culture Research Club, and the Nguyễn An Ninh Digital Library, which specializes in southern documents. These partnerships will help introduce southern Vietnamese culture and traditional performing arts such as hát bội and cải lương (reformed opera) to a wider audience.
In an effort to attract more visitors, the company and its partners will gather public feedback and explore the feasibility of launching nighttime activities at Book Street.
Furthermore, talk shows and book introduction events will continue to be held, fostering a reading culture among the public, particularly young adults and children.
The initiative is expected to enrich the cultural landscape of HCM City while providing both residents and tourists with a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s artistic heritage.
