Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Minister of Creative Economy (Menekraf) Teuku Rifky Harsya has announced his ministry’s readiness to collaborate with various sectors to advance the equestrian sports industry in Indonesia. Speaking at a press conference following the Indonesia Equestrian Sports Association (Pordasi) National Conference in Jakarta on Saturday, Harsya highlighted the significance of synergy and collaboration, agendas actively promoted by President Prabowo Subianto.

“President Prabowo has mandated that every minister in the Cabinet work in synergy. We observe that the Minister of Youth and Sports is currently focused on developing the sports industry,” Harsya stated. He noted that President Prabowo’s vision includes fostering a creative industry within the sports sector, intertwining sports development with economic growth and innovation.

Minister Harsya emphasized the emerging opportunities within the sports industry, particularly in the creative economy domain, which encompasses elements such as merchandise, apparel, specialized equestrian gear, and accessories. Currently, many of these items are still imported, presenting an area ripe for domestic development. “We are prepared to collaborate with the Ministry of Sports, especially to promote the growth of equestrian sports,” he said, underlining his ministry’s support for local industry advancement.

The Pordasi National Conference also marked a strategic turning point, as the association held an extraordinary meeting to refine its Articles of Association (AD/ART) and align future work programs. These initiatives will engage a broad range of stakeholders, with a particular focus on youth involvement. Aryo Djojohadikusumo, Chairperson of Pordasi, expressed his commitment to networking and engaging with all sectors to elevate Indonesian equestrianism, with an ambitious goal of competing at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. “We will remain open to collaborations that strengthen our sport and place Indonesia on the global equestrian map,” Aryo affirmed.
