Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has affirmed that the upcoming visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to Islamabad will serve to further strengthen the longstanding ties and cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
In an official statement issued on Sunday, the ministry highlighted the deep-rooted nature of Pakistan-Iran relations, describing them as grounded in shared history, culture, and religion. “This high-level visit reflects the deep-rooted and strong relationship,” the statement read.
Foreign Minister Araqchi is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Monday, following his departure from Tehran on Sunday. During his visit, he will hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the two sides will exchange views on key regional and global developments during the visit, further enhancing diplomatic understanding and collaboration.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, welcomed the timing of Araqchi’s visit, noting that it comes at a crucial juncture. In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Tipu emphasized Iran’s consistent approach toward interaction and consensus-building.
He described the visit as an opportunity for both countries to deliberate on international affairs and further their cooperation on bilateral fronts. The ambassador also commended the “constructive and wise approach of Iranian leaders” in promoting de-escalation and diplomatic solutions, particularly in light of recent tensions between India and Pakistan following a deadly attack in Kashmir.
“Tehran and Islamabad have aligned positions for establishing peace in the region,” Tipu noted, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and its readiness to pursue a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident.
The visit is expected to reaffirm the commitment of both countries to deepening their partnership and working collaboratively for regional peace and stability.
