Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan Plan Cross-Culture Days to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are set to enhance their cultural and humanitarian cooperation by holding cross-culture days in the near future. This announcement followed talks between Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Murat Nurtleu, and his Turkmen counterpart, Rashid Meredov, according to media reports.
“Cultural and humanitarian cooperation traditionally remains one of our priority areas,” said Minister Nurtleu. “Taking this opportunity, I would like to congratulate the Turkmen delegation on the 300th anniversary of the world-famous poet Magtymguly Pyragy. His literary heritage reflects the wisdom and unique worldview of the Turkmen people, who have managed to preserve common spiritual treasures and traditions of Turkic culture. We look forward to the solemn opening of a monument to this great poet in our capital.”
Minister Nurtleu further announced that, as part of initiatives led by the leaders of both countries, Days of Culture of Turkmenistan will be held in Astana, while Days of Kazakhstan Culture will take place in Turkmenistan soon.
“We are ready to host the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan this fall,” Nurtleu stated. He also expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for their initiative to unveil monuments to the outstanding Kazakh kuishi and composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbaiuly, as well as the great thinker Abai, in Ashgabat. “This year, Anau city in Turkmenistan was declared the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World. We have agreed to provide assistance in fostering interaction between our higher education and research institutions. More than 2,600 Turkmen students studying in 28 Kazakhstani universities are contributing to the rapprochement of our two countries.”
The cultural exchange initiatives underscore the commitment of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to strengthening their bilateral relations through shared cultural and educational projects.
