Bishkek, The Gulf Observer: Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker Nurlanbek Shakiev attended the second Interparliamentary Cooperation Council meeting with Kazakhstan, emphasizing the strengthening partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. He highlighted recent agreements and the role of inter-parliamentary diplomacy in improving political dialogue and expanding regulations.

Shakiev praised economic collaboration, noting the signing of $300 million in business deals at the recent Kyrgyz-Kazakh forum. He underscored goals to increase bilateral trade to $3 billion by 2030, encouraged deeper regional cooperation, and advocated for cultural exchanges to enhance solidarity. Kazakhstan’s Mazhilis Chair Yerlan Koshanov echoed the commitment, stressing the need for smoother trade logistics, tourism development, and the opening of the Almaty-Issyk-Kul route as key advancements.
