Morocco Win Inaugural CAF Women’s Futsal Title

Rabat, The Gulf Observer: Morocco made history on home soil by clinching the first-ever CAF Women’s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations title with a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Tanzania in a pulsating final held in Rabat.
The hosts, spurred on by a passionate crowd, overturned a 2-0 deficit to cap off a flawless campaign in emphatic fashion. Goals from Tanzania’s Katunzi and Rajabu gave the East African side an early lead inside 16 minutes. But Morocco pulled one back before the break through Dhouha Madani, who finished off a fine assist from Sihem Tadlaoui.
The momentum shifted firmly in Morocco’s favour in the second half. Idrissiya Krich equalised in the 34th minute, setting the stage for a dramatic finale. With just seconds remaining, tournament standout Jasmine Damraoui struck the winner, securing Morocco’s place in African futsal history.
Damraoui was named Player of the Tournament, while Madani, who scored in every match—including against Namibia, Cameroon, Angola, and Tanzania—claimed the Top Scorer award with five goals. Tanzania’s Najaty Idrissa was recognised as the Best Goalkeeper, and Namibia took home the Fair Play award.
Morocco dominated the competition from start to finish, topping their group with emphatic wins over Namibia (8-1) and Cameroon (7-1), before easing past Angola 5-1 in the semi-final.
With this historic victory, Morocco’s women join the men’s team at the pinnacle of African futsal and secure qualification for the upcoming Women’s Futsal World Cup in the Philippines later this year.
