Museum of Fine Arts in Ashgabat to Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Aykhan Khadzhiev
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The Museum of Fine Arts in Ashgabat is gearing up to honor the legacy of Aykhan Khadzhiev, the People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, on the occasion of his 100th anniversary. A special exhibition featuring around a hundred paintings from the artist’s collection will be unveiled in April, treating visitors to a remarkable journey through Khadzhiev’s artistic evolution, as reported by “Turkmenistan: Golden Age.”
The exhibition will showcase a diverse array of Khadzhiev’s works spanning different periods of his illustrious career. Notable pieces include a revered portrait of Magtymguly, acknowledged as the quintessential portrayal of the iconic poet. Additionally, the exhibition will feature the masterpiece “A Century-long Dream Come True,” paying homage to the builders of the Karakum Canal. The artist’s portfolio will further unfold with paintings like “Difficult Years,” “The First Teacher,” “Science to Help Cotton Growers,” and “On the Harman.”
In conjunction with the exhibition, a forum dedicated to Aykhan Khadzhiev’s centenary will take place in April. The forum will witness the participation of Turkmen artists, students, and esteemed guests from around the world.
