Niftysphere Institute to Host ‘Cultural Colors Season 5’ in Islamabad
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Niftysphere Institute of Arts and Design has announced that it will organize “Cultural Colors Season 5,” an international cultural and fashion showcase, on August 27, 2026, at Serena Hotel Islamabad, bringing together fashion, art, music, and cultural performances to celebrate Pakistan’s rich heritage while fostering international cultural diplomacy.
The event is being organized under the leadership of Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, in collaboration with leading government and cultural institutions. It aims to strengthen Pakistan’s cultural image globally by promoting artistic excellence, youth creativity, and cross-cultural engagement.
The showcase is being organized by the Niftysphere Institute of Arts and Design in collaboration with the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Lok Virsa, the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), and Serena Hotel Islamabad, with participation and support from international diplomatic missions and cultural partners.
A key attraction of the event will be an exclusive fashion presentation by the Department of Fashion Designing at Niftysphere Institute of Arts and Design. Students will unveil original costume collections inspired by the traditions, craftsmanship, and cultural identity of Balochistan, highlighting the province’s rich and diverse heritage through contemporary fashion.
Adding an international dimension, students will also present creative costume designs inspired by the national birds and national animals of different countries. The presentation is intended to symbolize unity in diversity while promoting international cultural dialogue through artistic expression.
The creative concept and overall theme of Cultural Colors Season 5 have been developed by Sidra Tul Muntaha, Head of the Department of Fashion Designing at the institute, whose vision blends traditional heritage with modern fashion innovation.
The event is being coordinated at the national and international levels by Syed Usman Tahir, Advisor to the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture and CEO of Niftysphere Institute of Arts and Design. He has been actively working to strengthen collaboration between government institutions, diplomatic missions, and the creative industries to promote Pakistan’s cultural identity on the international stage.
The cultural programme will also feature a traditional Balochistan cultural dance performance celebrating the province’s music, dance, and folklore. Renowned musician Wajih Nizami will present a live sitar performance inspired by Balochistan’s musical traditions, offering audiences an immersive cultural experience.
Speaking ahead of the event, the organizers said that Cultural Colors Season 5 is more than a fashion showcase, describing it as a platform for cultural diplomacy, youth empowerment, artistic innovation, and international friendship. They expressed confidence that the participation of students, government institutions, diplomatic missions, and international partners would further strengthen cultural understanding while projecting Pakistan as a vibrant hub of creativity and heritage.
