Oman participates as Guest of Honour in Riyadh International Book Fair
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman is the guest of honour at the Riyadh International Book Fair, which opened yesterday, Thursday, and will continue until October 7, with the participation of more than 1,800 publishing houses from 32 countries.
The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion which comes with the participation of a number of official institutions, includes an exhibition of rare Omani manuscripts, a number of different Omani publications, a fine arts exhibition, artistic and musical performances, a display screen for broadcasting short promotional and tourist films about the Sultanate of Oman, and a special corner for VR technology.
His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture said: “The participation of the Sultanate of Oman as a guest of honour in Riyadh International Book Fair comes as an affirmation of the bonds of love and rapprochement between the two brotherly countries, and an embodiment of the distinguished cultural relations and issues of concern to Arab culture and thinkers.
The participation also represents great importance for the Sultanate to introduce its cultural, historical, intellectual, literary and artistic components.”
