Oman Participates in Joint Parliamentary Meeting with Sweden in Doha
Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Shura Council, participated today in a joint meeting with Åsa Lindestam, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden. The meeting, held in Doha, addressed a range of significant topics aimed at fostering collaboration between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) legislative councils and the Swedish Parliament.
Key discussions centered on strengthening coordination on regional and international issues, with a particular focus on the ethics of artificial intelligence (AI) and technological advancements.
The meeting also highlighted the pivotal role of parliaments in addressing global challenges, including conflicts, wars, epidemics, climate change, food security, and the achievement of sustainable development goals. Both sides underscored the importance of supporting collective efforts to promote regional development and stability.
Ali bin Mansour Al Amri, a member of Oman’s Shura Council, represented the Sultanate at the meeting. The engagement reflects Oman’s commitment to enhancing international parliamentary cooperation and addressing pressing global issues in collaboration with other nations.
