Oman’s Annual Tribute: Commemorating the Global Impact of Influential Omani Figures
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Today, the Sultanate of Oman joyfully commemorates the annual day dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the globally influential Omani figures listed in the UNESCO Programme for Important Historical Events and Globally Influential Personalities. This auspicious day, observed on February 10 each year, serves as a testament to the cognitive and scientific legacy of remarkable Omani individuals, both at the local and global levels.
This year’s celebration holds special significance as it marks the 350th anniversary of the establishment of Jibreen Fort, an iconic historical milestone in the rich tapestry of Oman’s heritage.

- Al Khalil bin Ahmed Al Farahidi – Linguist (2005)
- Rashid bin Omairah Al Hashimi Al Rustaqi – Doctor and Pharmacist (2013)
