President Emomali Rahmon Urges Greater Regional Unity at Central Asia–Azerbaijan Leaders’ Meeting
Cholpon-Ata, The Gulf Observer: President of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, H.E. Emomali Rahmon participated and addressed the Informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, on Friday.
President Rahmon described the meeting as an important platform for discussing ways to advance the regional agenda and expressed gratitude to President of Kyrgyzstan H.E. Sadyr Japarov for the invitation and warm hospitality.
Referring to rising geopolitical tensions, changes in the international system, and the emergence of new security challenges, the Tajik leader called on regional countries to adopt a coordinated and effective response to these developments.
President Rahmon also highlighted the growing interest of the international community in Central Asia, noting that this trend creates new opportunities for expanding trade and economic relations, attracting investment, and introducing advanced technologies.
He stressed that the development of transport and logistics corridors, energy cooperation, industrial growth, digitalization, and food security remain among the shared priorities of the countries in the region.
In view of current developments in regional and global energy markets, President Rahmon proposed the establishment of large oil-processing enterprises in Central Asian countries to produce fuel and strengthen regional energy security.
The President further emphasized the importance of cultural and humanitarian cooperation as a key factor in reinforcing friendship, mutual understanding, and trust among the peoples of the region.
Concluding his remarks, President Rahmon reaffirmed Tajikistan’s readiness to continue efforts aimed at the practical implementation of joint decisions adopted during the meeting.
