Baku, The Gulf Observer: All three Azerbaijani citizens aboard the foreign cargo vessel KHORYV, which came under drone attacks near the Romanian coast, have been rescued, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed.

Aykhan Hajizada, spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, provided the update in response to a local media inquiry regarding the incident involving the vessel and its Azerbaijani crew members.

Hajizada said that Rufan Khalig oglu Ahmadov, born in 1992, sustained minor injuries in the incident. He underwent a medical examination and was subsequently accommodated at a hotel.

The spokesperson added that the Azerbaijani Embassy in Romania was coordinating with the relevant authorities to provide the necessary assistance to the rescued citizens. Consular support measures are also underway to ensure their well-being.

Hajizada reiterated the Foreign Ministry’s advisory urging Azerbaijani citizens to avoid travelling to areas affected by military operations or where security conditions remain unstable.

He also cautioned citizens against undertaking employment in such areas or working aboard transport operating along routes exposed to security risks, particularly vessels navigating the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.

The ministry’s statement underscores the importance of exercising caution in maritime areas where ongoing security threats may endanger civilian crews and commercial shipping.
