President Mirziyoyev Receives Turkish Business Delegation
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan welcomed a delegation from the Turkish companies Cengiz Holding and Kalyon Holding, led by their chairmen Mehmet Cengiz and Cemal Kalyoncu. The meeting focused on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and implementing joint projects to modernize and develop various sectors of the Uzbek economy.
President Mirziyoyev and the delegation discussed the positive outcomes of the recent Uzbek-Turkish Business Council meeting held during the President’s visit to Ankara. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the progress and emphasized the need for the swift implementation of the agreements reached.
Promising Projects and Strategic Collaboration
The Turkish companies presented their plans for several promising projects in Uzbekistan. These projects include the modernization and construction of road infrastructure, the establishment of green energy capacities, and joint geological surveys to develop promising deposits.
It was highlighted that Cengiz Holding has already successfully completed two significant projects in Uzbekistan. Modern power plants with a total capacity of 460 megawatts have been commissioned in the Tashkent and Syrdarya regions. Additionally, the construction of another power plant in the Jizzakh region, with a capacity of over 500 megawatts, is currently underway.
Strengthening Bilateral Economic Ties
This meeting underscores the strengthening economic ties between Uzbekistan and Turkey, with a focus on leveraging Turkish expertise and investment to drive Uzbekistan’s economic modernization. The collaboration aims to bring advanced technologies and sustainable solutions to Uzbekistan, enhancing the country’s infrastructure and energy sectors.
