President Mirziyoyev Visits Iranian Embassy to Express Condolences

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan visited the Embassy of Iran to convey his deep condolences to the Iranian people following the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation in a helicopter crash in northern Iran, according to media reports.

The press service of the Uzbek President reported that President Mirziyoyev left a note of heartfelt sympathy and support in the Book of Condolences at the diplomatic mission.

During a brief conversation with Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Ali Eskandari, President Mirziyoyev emphasized that President Raisi was an exceptional statesman and politician who made significant contributions to Iran’s sustainable socio-economic development, the well-being of its population, the strengthening of its international stature, and the expansion of multifaceted, mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran.

In addition to his visit, President Mirziyoyev had sent a message of condolences the previous day to the Supreme Spiritual Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, expressing his sorrow and solidarity with the Iranian people during this difficult time.
