President Pezeshkian Stresses Role of Technology in Driving Iran’s Industrial Growth

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President Masoud Pezeshkian has underlined the vital role of scientific advancement in wealth creation and industrial development, affirming his administration’s commitment to supporting technological progress in Iran.
Speaking at a meeting on technological development strategies on Saturday night, the president pointed to global economic transformations, particularly the Persian Gulf region’s transition toward a post-oil economy. He emphasized the urgency of transferring knowledge from universities to innovative and industrial enterprises.
The discussion reviewed global trends in emerging technologies, the positions of leading countries, and Iran’s current standing. Among the key priorities outlined were the development of national technology sectors, strengthening cooperation with allied and pioneering nations, and advancing governance through major technological initiatives to align with global progress.
Pezeshkian also highlighted the importance of empowering the private sector to establish large, competitive technology firms. He stressed the need to draw on the successful experiences of regional and international organizations such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Encouraging stakeholders to accelerate innovation, the president called for the integration of proposals to boost technological capacity and urged the enhancement of educational quality. He proposed the introduction of training packages in artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies for students to build a skilled future workforce.
