Royal Oman Police Warns Public Against Fraudulent Social Media Advertisements

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a public warning regarding fraudulent advertisements circulating on social media, which falsely offer domestic workers at attractive prices.
According to the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation, these scams are designed to deceive individuals and illicitly obtain money from victims’ accounts. The fraudulent advertisements utilize electronic links to access and extract personal and sensitive information.
The ROP strongly advises the public to exercise caution and avoid responding to such deceptive advertisements. Additionally, individuals are urged not to click on unknown electronic links and to refrain from sharing personal and banking details on social media platforms to prevent falling victim to these cyber fraud schemes.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to tracking and apprehending those responsible for such fraudulent activities and have encouraged the public to report any suspicious online advertisements or activities.
