Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Visit Tehran for High-Level Talks

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esma’eel Baqayi has announced that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to visit Tehran this week as part of ongoing consultations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.

According to Baqayi, the visit will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional and international developments. Lavrov is expected to engage in discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and other senior Iranian officials on key issues of mutual concern.

Kazem Jalali, Iran’s ambassador to Moscow, confirmed that Lavrov’s meeting with Araqchi is scheduled for Tuesday as part of his diplomatic agenda in Tehran.

This visit marks another significant engagement between Iran and Russia, underscoring their strategic cooperation. Lavrov last visited Tehran on October 23, 2023, when he participated in a meeting of the 3+3 cooperation format, which focused on developments in the South Caucasus.

The upcoming discussions are expected to further reinforce diplomatic ties and explore avenues for collaboration in various sectors amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
