Saudi Arabia and Morocco Emphasize Commitment to Strengthening Cooperation Across Multiple Sectors

Makkah, The Gulf Observer: The 14th session of the Saudi-Moroccan Joint Committee, held in Makkah on Wednesday, focused on furthering bilateral cooperation between the two nations across a wide range of sectors to enhance their longstanding relationship.
The meeting was co-chaired by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita. Senior officials from various ministries, government agencies, and private sector institutions from both sides also attended the session.
This meeting reaffirmed the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Morocco, with both parties highlighting their commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The officials expressed satisfaction with the exemplary level of relations between the two countries and praised the continued efforts of the entities involved in the committee’s work to align with the aspirations of the two leaderships.
During the session, both nations signed a joint customs cooperation agreement for mutual recognition of the Authorized Economic Operator program. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was agreed upon to enhance collaboration in environmental protection and sustainable development.
The meeting was attended by notable figures, including Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Ambassador to Morocco Dr. Sami Al-Saleh, Deputy Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority for Operations Affairs Abdullah Al-Sadhan, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for International Affairs Dr. Tariq Al-Hamad, CEO of the General Organization for the Conservation of Coral Reefs and Turtles in the Red Sea Dr. Khaled Mohammed Isfahani, and Director General of the Secretariats of Councils and Committees Eng. Fahd Al-Harthi.
