Saudi Health Minister Attends 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva

Geneva, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia’s Health Minister Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel is currently participating in the 77th session of the World Health Assembly (WHA) at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva. The assembly, which commenced on Monday, gathers health ministers from member states of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Under the theme “All for Health, Health for All,” WHA77 focuses on addressing various crucial issues related to global health. Among the key topics on the agenda are discussions concerning the WHO investment round and the fourteenth draft of the general program of work.

The assembly will also tackle amendments to the International Health Regulations, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of global health governance. Additionally, negotiations by the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body on an agreement concerning pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response will be a focal point of deliberations.

Minister Al-Jalajel’s participation underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to global health cooperation and its active engagement in addressing pressing health challenges on the international stage.

The WHA serves as a platform for member states to come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate on strategies to promote health equity and improve healthcare systems worldwide.
