Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Attends Opening Ceremony of 150th IPU Assembly in Tashkent

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The official opening ceremony of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) was held in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event brought together parliamentary leaders and delegations from across the globe, including Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova.
The ceremony featured welcoming remarks from Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, IPU President Tulia Ackson, and IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong. In their addresses, they highlighted the importance of the topics on the Assembly’s agenda and underscored the IPU’s role in fostering dialogue and cooperation among national parliaments.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova is scheduled to deliver a formal address during the Assembly, where she is expected to present Azerbaijan’s perspectives on key global and regional parliamentary issues. On the sidelines of the gathering, she is also engaging in bilateral meetings with speakers of parliament from various countries, aimed at strengthening interparliamentary cooperation and fostering mutual understanding.
