Turkmenistan and Japan Discuss Expansion of Economic Cooperation

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting on Saturday with Hiroyuki Tsubai, Chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen Committee for Economic Cooperation, and Kenji Sanada, Executive Director and General Manager of the Plant Engineering Business Division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the enduring and fruitful partnership between Turkmenistan and leading Japanese companies, particularly in key sectors such as oil and gas, gas chemical industry, transport, agriculture, electric power, and environmental protection.

Both sides reaffirmed the significance of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen Committees on Economic Cooperation as vital platforms for strengthening bilateral economic ties and facilitating ongoing and future collaboration.

The discussions focused on the progress of joint projects currently underway and explored potential avenues for expanding cooperation across strategic sectors. The participants emphasized their mutual interest in further advancing economic relations and enhancing project implementation through close coordination and technical expertise.

The meeting reflected the shared commitment of Turkmenistan and Japan to deepen their comprehensive partnership based on mutual benefit, innovation, and long-term development goals.
