Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Leads Regional Trade Cooperation Event in Gujranwala

Gujranwala, The Gulf Observer: Atajan Movlamov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, joined ambassadors from Central Asia and Azerbaijan in a significant trade and economic cooperation event held in Gujranwala, Pakistan. The event, hosted by the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Gujranwala Business Center, focused on strengthening regional partnerships and exploring investment opportunities across Central Asia and Pakistan.
The meeting brought together key representatives to discuss expanding trade relations, enhancing cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and fostering closer ties between regional chambers of commerce. Ambassador Movlamov highlighted the importance of exhibitions and forums in attracting investment, particularly those that showcase the region’s production and export potential, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan to Pakistan.
During the gathering, the delegation was briefed on a range of significant infrastructure projects initiated by Turkmenistan, which are expected to contribute to regional peace and sustainable development. The discussions also touched upon the UN General Assembly’s resolution for 2025 to be recognized as the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” a key initiative led by Turkmenistan, emphasizing the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and global cooperation.
In an interview with local media, Ambassador Movlamov underscored the potential for increased trade and economic collaboration between Turkmenistan and Pakistan. He expressed optimism about the future of bilateral ties, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and trade.
Following the meeting, the ambassadors attended the opening of the Trade Facilitation Desk at the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They also visited the “Made in Gujranwala” exhibition, where they had the opportunity to explore a wide range of locally manufactured products, furthering their understanding of the region’s industrial capabilities.
This event served as a significant step toward enhancing economic cooperation in the region, fostering closer ties between Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and neighboring countries in Central Asia.
