UAE and Indonesia Bolster Strategic Partnership with New Agreements

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received President of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, on Thursday at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where the two leaders discussed deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing their countries’ strategic partnership.
During the meeting, the two sides explored opportunities to expand collaboration in key sectors, including the economy, investment, renewable energy, sustainability, and infrastructure. The discussions reflected the shared ambition of both nations to build a prosperous future grounded in mutual benefit and comprehensive economic partnership.
The talks were held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
Sheikh Mohamed and President Subianto also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a consistent and principled approach of supporting peace and stability, promoting dialogue and diplomacy to address global challenges and foster sustainable development.
The two leaders underscored the importance of strengthening UAE–Indonesia relations, which have witnessed significant growth in recent years, driven by a shared vision for development and international cooperation.
As part of the visit, Sheikh Mohamed and President Subianto witnessed the announcement of a number of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding between the UAE and Indonesia. These covered a wide range of sectors, including the economy, investment, environment, food security, renewable energy, sustainability, security, and Islamic affairs.
The meeting and agreement announcements were attended by prominent Emirati officials, including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority; Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Indonesia; Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Eagle Hills Abu Dhabi; and members of the Indonesian delegation accompanying President Subianto.
