UAE and Italy Reinforce Strategic Partnership During Presidential Talks

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, today held high-level talks with His Excellency Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing the UAE-Italy strategic partnership.

The discussions took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where His Highness welcomed President Mattarella during his state visit and expressed appreciation for his dedication to fostering UAE-Italy relations. President Mattarella, in turn, conveyed his pleasure at visiting the UAE, emphasizing the strategic relationship between the two nations, founded on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to development and prosperity.

During the talks, the two leaders reviewed multiple avenues for cooperation, focusing on key sectors including the economy, investment, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, sustainability, and cultural exchange. They also exchanged perspectives on regional and international issues of mutual concern, highlighting the importance of dialogue, diplomatic solutions, and the promotion of peace and stability for the benefit of all parties.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan underscored the steady progress of UAE-Italy relations since their establishment in 1971 and emphasized the UAE’s interest in building upon recent achievements. He highlighted the role of cultural collaboration as a bridge for mutual understanding and a platform for promoting shared values.

A luncheon was hosted by His Highness in honor of President Mattarella and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; alongside ministers, senior officials of the UAE, and members of the Italian presidential delegation.

Upon arrival at Qasr Al Shati, President Mattarella received an official reception, including a cavalry procession and an honor guard salute. He was warmly greeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials present to welcome the Italian President.

The visit reflects the enduring commitment of the UAE and Italy to deepen their strategic partnership and advance shared goals of prosperity, development, and regional stability.
