UAE Announces Visa-Free Regime for Citizens of Uzbekistan

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: As of February 16, 2024, the United Arab Emirates will implement a visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan, marking a significant development in bilateral relations between the two nations.
On 16 January 2024, a protocol on cooperation on mutual exemption from entry visas between the governments of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates was signed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE.
According to the document, citizens of Uzbekistan are exempt from visa requirements while staying in the UAE for a period not exceeding 30 days.
The protocol of intergovernmental cooperation was signed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the UAE Abdulaziz Akkulov and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE Khalid Abdullah Belhoul.
The document will officially come into force on 16 February 2024.
In 2023, 119,450 citizens of Uzbekistan visited the UAE. They spent US$9.2 million on visa processing.
