UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Meets Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, today welcomed His Excellency Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, during his official working visit to the UAE. The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati, where His Highness extended a warm welcome to the Georgian leader, wishing continued progress and prosperity for Georgia and its people.
The two leaders engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation between the UAE and Georgia, focusing on key sectors including investment, trade, economy, agriculture, renewable energy, environmental sustainability, and more. These areas align with the joint development priorities of both nations.
They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, with an emphasis on promoting peace, security, stability, and sustainable development.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to building strong international partnerships and fostering mutual development, highlighting the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries, which took effect last year. The agreement is seen as a key milestone in UAE-Georgian economic collaboration, with the UAE fully committed to advancing shared objectives and sustainable growth.
Prime Minister Kobakhidze expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and reiterated Georgia’s dedication to strengthening collaboration with the UAE to promote mutual interests and sustainable economic growth. Both leaders expressed optimism that the UAE-Georgian relationship would continue to strengthen, with numerous opportunities ahead to further their shared goals for sustainable development.
The meeting was attended by senior UAE officials, including Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; and Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State. Georgian officials, including the Georgian Prime Minister’s accompanying delegation, also participated.
During the meeting, both leaders witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on investment, aimed at establishing development projects in Georgia. The MoU was signed by His Excellency Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eagle Hills Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Levan Davitashvili, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, along with His Excellency Tornike Rijvadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. Several officials from both countries were present to witness the signing.
