Uzbek Oybek Kasymov participates in 12th Olympic Summit via videoconference
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Oybek Kasymov participated in the 12th Olympic Summit in Lausanne, Switzerland, via videoconference.
At the summit, chaired by the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, several issues related to the further development of the Olympic movement worldwide were discussed.
The participants discussed the project “Building a peaceful and better world through sport and the Olympic ideal”, put forward in a United Nations resolution. Following the discussions, 118 countries supported this initiative. Two countries expressed neutrality, and representatives of one country voted against it.
At the meeting, opinions and proposals were expressed in preparation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024. Participants noted that the games, which will be held in the capital of France, will make a radical turn in the history of the Olympic movement.
At the summit, opinions were expressed on preparations for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games – Milano Cortina 2026, the fight against doping, sports free from politics, digital communications, and the Olympic Games project in e-sports.
